About Us
Madasha Aqoonyahanka Aragtida Nool – MAAN is an independent, non-profit, non-political initiative based in Mogadishu committed to fostering a peaceful environment characterized by good governance through engaging, informing, and involving Somali citizens in understanding existing national agendas and actively participating in ongoing policy planning and discussions. The initiative employs intellectual debate and dialogue forums, as well as extensive public engagement and awareness-raising to enhance the quality and effectiveness of Somalia’s state building and governance.

MAAN events are open to all interested individuals. We encourage all stakeholders, including policymakers, opinion leaders, civil society members, and the public, to join our forums, conferences, lectures, research/book-forums, and special events.
MAAN hosts regular events, including monthly forums and special events. We also host two- and three-day conferences on key regional and Somalia issues.
MAAN events feature high-profile speakers, including national leaders, institutional experts, civil society leaders, and foreign ambassadors based in Mogadishu.

MAAN is based in Mogadishu, Somalia. However, we conduct events and engage with stakeholders throughout the country and beyond. We also have a team of researchers and analysts based in different regions of the country who work remotely to support our advocacy efforts.
